Professional Media products warranty information

(Betacam SP / Digital Betacam / Betacam SX / Betacam IMX / DVCAM / Digital Master / HDCAM / HDCAM SR / Professional Disc)

Sony Electronics Inc. (“Sony”) warrants your professional media product (“Product”) against defects in material or workmanship. For 90 days from the date of original purchase, Sony will replace the Product at no charge or, at Sony’s option, refund the purchase price shown on your receipt. To obtain warranty service in Latin America, please contact your authorized Sony Reseller where the Product was purchased from or contact your Sony Sales Representative. This Limited Warranty applies only to Sony Product originating from Sony Electronics Inc.

Replacement or refund of this Product as provided under this limited warranty shall be the exclusive remedy of the consumer. Sony shall not be liable for any loss or damages, including consequential, indirect and incidental damages, arising out of the use of, or inability to use, the Product or for breach of any express or implied warranty or conditions on this Product. Except to the extent prohibited by law, any implied warranties or conditions of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose are limited in duration to the duration of this warranty.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty or condition lasts or exclusions or limitations of consequential or incidental damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.

Sony’s warranty is for replacement only of media that proves to be defective in workmanship or material subject to the warranty period and any other conditions set forth on the package. Physically damaged media is not covered under warranty. Requests for refunds, or exchanges for other types of media, should be directed to the authorized Sony Reseller where the product was purchased from.

In some instances, we are able to repair Sony Video and Audio Tapes. Please contact your authorized Sony Resellers or Sony Sales Representative for more details.

 

SxS Memory Card and Professional Hard Disk Drive warranty information

(SxS PRO / SxS-1 / Professional Hard Disk)

Sony Electronics Inc. (“Sony”) warrants this Product from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase. Sony will repair or replace the Product with a new Product at no charge or, at Sony’s option, refund the purchase price shown on your receipt during the one (1) year warranty period. To obtain warranty service in Latin America, please contact your authorized Sony Reseller where the Product was purchased from or contact your Sony Sales Representative. Proof of purchase is required in the form of a dated bill of sale or receipt which evidences that the Product is within the limited warranty period.

Be sure to remove all software files, or any other data stored on your media prior to sending this product to Sony, or be sure to keep those duplications at your data storage device prior to sending this product to Sony. Sony is not liable for any loss, damage, or corruption of these items. Repair or replacement as provided under this limited warranty is the exclusive remedy of the consumer. Sony shall not be liable for any incidental, indirect or consequential damages including but not limited to, loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss or corruption of data, loss of use of the Product or any associated equipment, downtime and user’s time, or for breach of any express or implied warranty or condition, breach of contract, negligence, strict liability or any other legal theory related to this product. Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, any implied warranty/condition of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose on this product is limited in duration to the duration of this warranty. Any warranty for intellectual property infringement is hereby disclaimed.

Data Storage Products warranty information

Sony Electronics Inc. (“Sony”) warrants this product (“Product”) against defects in material or workmanship for its normal, useful life from the date of purchase. If Sony determines the Product to be defective in material or workmanship, Sony will replace the Product at no charge or, at Sony’s option, refund the purchase price shown on your receipt. This limited lifetime warranty applies only to the original end-user purchaser and therefore is not transferable. Please keep the original copy of your purchase receipt for any future warranty claim. This warranty does not cover any damage or defect due to accident, misuse, abuse or neglect. To obtain warranty service in Latin America, please contact your authorized Sony Reseller where the product was purchased from and return the defective item along with a report of the problem (including any error message or type of equipment in which it was used).
